TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME
This week has been a really busy work week for me. At work we have two new brands launching next weekend Wild Fable & Original Use. I have been prepping for this major launch. I am excited about these brands. They are definitely going to bring a new flavor to Target. Read more HERE.
Last weekend I went to my very first baseball game and it was a bittersweet experience. I'm not sure if it was because the A's were playing the giants (which home team is in San Francisco) but the stadium was packed. I did not expect that I was really shocked. I guess you can tell I am not a big baseball fan. I grew up with my family loving the Oakland A's so hey... I am an A's fan too!
Everything was great but the bitter part was the HEAT!!! OMG... It was so hot y'll that my thighs were literally turning red. I am not an expert in science or architecture but, i think the way that the stadium is built attracts and holds a lot of heat because it was not that hot in Oakland. One thing that saved me were their refreshing margaritas. Saved my life lol.
All in all I had a great time at the game spending time with my family and to top it off the A's won the game and the series against the Giants. GO A's!!!!!!
"TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME, TAKE ME OUT WITH THE CROWD. BUY ME SOME PEANUTS AND CRACKERJACKS, I DON'T CARE IF I NEVER COME BACK. LET ME ROOT, ROOT, ROOT FOR THE HOME TEAM, IF THEY DON'T WIN IT'S A SHAME. FOR IT'S ONE, TWO, THREE STRIKES YOU'RE OUT AT THE OLD BALL GAME."
This classic jingle was song during the game and it made me feel like a kid again :)
P.S. My dad had bought me the visor. Perfect for my Afro! Gotta love my pops!
Later that night, in Oakland CA, a life was taken in a hate crime. Which is why I can't end this post without saying R.I.P to #Niawilson. Nia was a young black women who life was taken by a white male by stabbing her to death at a BART station. My prayers to her family and close friends.
This is exactly why we march and scream from the top of our lungs!! I am tired of living in fear for my family and I. Shit has to change. Excuse my language but it boils my blood thinking about it all the murders without justice.
No justice. No peace.
That's it for today. See you in the next post!
