Hey Loves!

It is Thursday and I am burnt out! This week at work I am helping out at another location and I have been waking up at all different kinds of hours. I seem to function better and not be drowsy, when I am on a routine schedule. It also helps me be consistent as well. I said all of that to say I really wanted to post this blog on Tuesday but hey, better late than never.

On Friday 8/17/18 I took a trip to L.A. and helped out Haute Healing Foundation at their latest #FRESHLEWKS event for foster youth. I participated as one of the wardrobe stylist and had a blast.

Haute Healing is a non profit charity that gives head-to-toe makeovers. Their Primary purpose is "To bring the gift of hope, self confidence and well being to chronically ill, terminally ill, homeless or disadvantaged children and young adults by providing them with full beauty and grooming services and pampering products, makeovers, and professional photo-shoots, with the assistance of volunteer professional wardrobe stylist, hair stylist, makeup artist, nail artist and fashion photographers."

Before the event started, as a wardrobe stylist, I was given three young adults style profiles. In their style profile was their sizes, favorite colors, how they describe their style, fabric preferences, Icons, etc... Based on their profiles I pre-selected outfits that they might enjoy.

First I styled Ty -

Ty style was described as Urban Eclectic with Icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Jay-z and The Game. Below are images of two looks I picked out for him. Click Images to enlarge.

The first look was a black tee, light blue denim jeans, and burgundy pumas. The second look we added a wind a black & orange windbreaker and took off the pumas and he wore his Jordan tennis shoes. There were not a lot of pant options for Ty so we made looks that he can rotate the denim jeans with.

Next was Priscilla -

Priscilla style was described as Chic but conservative with Icons such as Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Jaclyn hill, and Julia Kelly. Below is are images of one of the tops I picked out for her. Priscilla was a bit camera shy so we didn't get many pictures of her looks but she went home with plenty and was very happy with what we came up with. Click images to enlarge.

Lastly I worked with Myriah -

Myriah was recently elected as first runner-up Miss Compton Princess 2018. Her style was described as Vintage. Her icons were Rihanna, Williow Smith, Erykah badu, and Jill Scott. Below are two of the looks I pulled for her. Click images to enlarge.

The first look was a black body suit and a black wrap skirt with flower embroidery. The second look was a white over-sized long sleeve shirt, Beige and white platform tennis shoes, and a pop of color with the red-ish/Burgundy head wrap. With both looks we accessorized it with a black & Gold choker and a long knot gold necklace.

Although, we only took pictures of a few outfits all three of the young adults went home with a lot more clothes. It was so awesome helping them piece together outfits.

Below are more images from the event. I was in make-over heaven!!! Click images to enlarge.

I loved the event so much that I am considering doing something similar in Sacramento. It will be so awesome to brighten up the spirits of the youth in my own community.

P.s. If you were wondering what I was wearing. It is a black romper with a distressed denim jacket and my black and white Clarks. I wore this black romper in previous post. Click here.
